Harmony in Voices

Our Musical Journey
The Cape Town Chamber Choir has established itself as one of the most distinguished a cappella adult choirs in the Cape. We are a semi-professional choir founded in 2010 by Leon Starker, and in the same year
performed and recorded Rachmaninoff’s Vespers in Afrikaans. Its members are all experienced choristers, many of whom sang in the pre-eminent university choirs of the country and come from the greater Cape Town area. We strive to create high quality music in the a cappella genre.
We currently have about 30 active members, we come from the greater Cape Town area – from Melkbos to Muizenberg, from Somerset West to Sea Point.
The choir takes on musical direction under Antoinette Huyssen from the start of 2024. We have also recently done a full rebrand of the choir to expand our audience base and attract new voices. The process was one of member inclusion and we are truly proud of this together with an inclusive marketing strategy to facilitate the awareness of our group to a larger audience.
